Masalas Arts

The mid-priced Indian in Dagu's Lu organic Benetton ad of a restaurant street, Masala Art, opened a second spot two weeks ago. It's on Yandang Lu, a street, which if you'll take a wistful trip back with me to the heady times of 2008, used to house Parkside (Masala Art took them over; R.I.P), Blu Sushi (R.I.P), and the spillover from nearby neighbors Volar (R.I.P) and Bloc (R.I.P).
"Soft opening" and the like, which means...... nothing. Full price, normal hours, same menu and chef as the Dagu Lu original; just, uh, no permits (and hence, no credit cards). That's basically what the "soft opening" euphemism means in China, if you were wondering. Details here.
