It finally happened. City Diner, that bastion of glorious service and almost unbearably authentic American cuisine, has proved too sophisticated for Shanghai. We all knew it. They were just too good. And now they're dead.
The management says "maybe open in two or three months, different location" and "maybe decide this month", which are both excellent indicators that they will do neither.
Long live City Diner.
