Marrakech Closing, City's Couscous Supplier Devastated

By Christopher St Cavish, Jan 29th, 2010 | In Dining

Marrakech, a white plaster rabbit-hole of tagines and the occasional jam band freakout, is closing on February 14. The city's couscous supplier is now devastated. With tiny El Wajh as Shanghai's only other Moroccan restaurant, how will he make a living? Who is going to feed his family? Will he be forced to survive on his own oversupply, with nothing more than a preserved lemon and a glass of mint tea for distraction?

Anyway, the people from Tara 57 have taken over the space. They'll renovate after Chinese New Year. It will become a non-Moroccan restaurant sometime in late March, early April. Until the 14th, it's couscous as usual.
