We didn’t want to write about it, but it’s just so damn popular: the world’s first poop museum has opened a branch in Shanghai. Yes. Yes. Sorry. Yes. Sorry. Unko Museum (unko is a Japanese word for poop), the world’s first dedicated museum, opened earlier this year in Japan, and as of October, they have been running a pop-up branch in Jing’an Joy City. But this is not a science museum. There are installations, displays and interactive games all revolving around the theme of ‘Max Unko Kawaii’, or ‘the maximum cuteness of poop’. People come for merchandise, to take selfies and to play. Granted, the poop here is stylized, pastel-colored, soft-serve-shaped ice-cream shape. Thank god. THANK GOD. If you find the bathroom arts cute, the pop-up runs until January 3, 2020 and costs 78rmb on weekdays, 88rmb on weekends. Click here for details.
