The place, Party King, is an underground sports center close to several arcade and pool places. It’s a big space with neon lights and a bar in the center. It’s kind of like a sports bar.
But I went there to throw axes, not dawdle at the BBQ buffet. I was assigned three small axes, body armor and a helmet. The axes are for throwing; the rest is apparently just for show. That’s why the staff put aside the helmet when it turned out to be too heavy for my head. Yep, super safe — don’t need the protection!
The staff will show you how to throw the axes but don’t let them get carried away. My guy just kept throwing and throwing until I had to tell him to stop. I didn’t pay to watch other people throwing axes, right?
So, I threw the axes several times but I just couldn’t get them to stick in the wall. It is not as easy as it seems. Why? Might be the dull blade, might be the rotten wooden wall, might be my inadequate girl power… Whatever the reason was, this was not a stress reliever. If anything, this was a stress trigger. There, I’ve had enough. Party King, you need to get a new wooden wall and some lighter helmets!
Besides that, they have bowling, archery, darts and pool. And, did I mention these are all included in the 158rmb (188rmb on weekends) day pass? No time limits! You can throw whatever you like, all day.
They also have a speakeasy-like private room behind a claw machine with karaoke, mahjong, video games, and an arcade machine, all in axe-proof rooms. Fun!
