By Jan 13, 2020 Activities

TELL EVERYONE

An important part of Metro Line 2 will be out of operation during the upcoming holiday, starting from January 23. The section between East Xujing Station and Songhong Road Station (not included) on Shanghai's busiest metro line will be closed for reconstruction for 11 days, until February 2.

Authorities are advising people heading to Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to take Line 10 instead or find alternative transportation. Either way, commuters are advised to add an extra hour to their travel plans.

For those heading into the city from East Xujing Sation, your best option would be to take Line 17 at Zhuguang Road Station and change to Line 10 at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. Free shuttle services will be set up outside of Songhong Road Station and operate between Songhong Road Station and Hongqiao East Transportation Hub, and Songhong Road Station and Line 10 Shanghai Zoo Station every 5 to 10 minutes starting at 6am.
