Good news from the world of dumplings: the Pierogi Ladies finally have their own shop. And, damn, their pierogis are good. The Pierogi Ladies 2.0
opened in a little eddy off the stream of traffic on Jiaozhou Lu a couple of weeks ago. That’s been just enough time for their pierogi-trained dumpling folders to find their feet and their super garlicky homemade pickles, stashed around the place on countertops and bookshelves, to soak up their brine, and so now is the time to go visit. I am partial to the kielbasa-and-sauerkraut variety, though also ate my way through plates of the spinach-and-feta, beetroot-and-goat cheese, and classic potato and cheese versions the other night, all of which were excellent entries into the global dumpling register. They’re open every day but Monday. Go down and pierogi.
