Hand in Hand International Children's Music Festival returns for a winter tour, featuring the same line up as the last time around. Emmy award winning and Grammy-nominated Lucky Dias and the Family Jam Band and kid-friendly rock band Hippe Gasten. Two shows, one starts at 10am for the early risers, the other at 1pm. Tickets range from 160rmb, to 260rmb, to 360.

New Year, new you, new sport. Sport for Life is opening all their sports to new and existing customers to try out something new for free. This offer is good from January 8 to February 10, there's dancing, basketball, soccer and more for various age groups check out all teams and locations on their site.

Xinfab and Openmake are teaming up to offer a talk on open source design and digital fabrication, sounds maybe like it'd be exciting for designer types; Anne Filson and Gary Rohrbacher from AtFAB will be in the house and the event is free for Xinfab members (or start membership for 30rmb) register at the event at 6.30pm, starts at 7pm.
Green Initiatives is screening Alphabet, a documentary on the modern educational system, more specifically how it's failing our children by stifling their creativity. Check out the trailer (VPN on). The movie pops off at 7pm followed by a short discussion. Costs 50rmb for people and 20rmb for students if you register before the event and 70rmb for all at the door.
