If you've never heard of it, The Community Center was founded in 1998 to connect and support the international community in Shanghai. It was created by a couple of expat families and Concordia International School. If you want to learn more about the center and how you can get involved, check here, they're based mostly outside the center.
"Shanghai 123" is a workshop they're providing that organizes discussions and seminars on common issues and frequently asked questions. Here are some of the topics that will be covered: the medical system in Shanghai, air and water concerns, app necessities, and travel in China. There'll also be some tips on dealing with your culture shock and adjusting to new family life. It's open to experienced Shanghai residents and newcomers alike; they'll also have free childcare and lunch kids 2-12.
The program will run at their Pudong location on August 25, September 16, and January 12. At Hongqiao on August 12 and September 9, Minhang on August 19, and Downtown Puxi on September 2 and January 13. You can register here.
