Coinciding with World AIDS Day on December 1, the Red Ribbon Gala Dinner is a fundraising event for HIV/AIDS research and education. In the past two years the event has raised 110,000rmb for Shanghai AIDSLIFE and Shanghai Qingai Health Center.
The Shanghai Qingai Health Center is an organization that serves Shanghai's youth by promoting safe sex and providing counseling and testing for STIs including HIV/AIDS. Proceeds from tickets as well as a charity raffle will go to the Shanghai Qingai Health Center's HIV/AIDS prevention and education campaign.
This year's event will take place at Andaz (Xintiandi) once more, in collaboration with ShanghaiPRIDE and Q-Events. They've already reached the halfway point of their fundraising goal, and have about 11 tables left.
