Tomorrow night, Green Initiatives will have their August screening, this time it’s Mai Iskander’s documentary 'Garbage Dreams’. More on the film right here. Post-film there’ll be a panel discussion and some networking. Movie starts at 7.15pm and everything will wrap up around 9.30. Costs 20rmb for students, for everyone else: 50rmb pre-sale and 100 at the door.

It’s August, but ShanghaiPRIDE is still here [insert: confetti emoji]! Hosted by Modern Art Base, the top 6 short films from the Shanghai Pride Film Festival 2017 will be shown this Saturday from 2-5pm. Films include: A Girl Covered, Blooming Night, Cocoon, Kill the Gay, The Confession, and Two Men. After the screenings, Sol Ye, producer of Blooming Night will be there to answer questions. Free entry.

This Saturday you can adopt a furry friend from 2.30-7.30pm at Kerry Parkside. It's the usually-monthly-but-it's-been-too-hot-lately event put on by Best Friends China to get animals to a good home. There will be about 30 cats and dogs ready to give you unconditional love (the best kind). All adoptions are free but make sure you put some thought into it.
