...And A Few More Openings and Expansions
By Justin Fischer, Apr 20th, 2011 | In Dining
We've got a few more openings that fell through the cracks yesterday...
First off, the owners of The Roof at Surpass Court are venturing into the pastry business. They've snatched up a space just across the street from their cocktail lounge. It's just big enough for a kitchen, a display case, and a table or two, which leads me to believe they're going more for take-away business. They're naming it L's, which is presumably short for owner Lizzy Lee. For the past few weeks, they've been testing out recipes and they're slated for a soft opening this Friday (April 22).
Moving west through the Concession, Le Saleya has also expanded with a smaller branch on Tai'an Lu. The official opening was yesterday. Expect more of what they're known for, simple bistro-style South of France fare. Listing here.
Just down the street, we have a newcomer called The Chowhaus. Occupying the former residence of H Cafe, Chowhaus describes itself as a "lifestyle cafe" (whatever that means) specializing in "pan-Asian" cuisine with an emphasis on Thai and Korean. Their grand opening is tonight. It's VIP time until 8pm. After that they're opening the gates to the riff-raff (that's us).
