Pudong Fatburger 'Rebranding,' Jing'An Robuchon Finally Opening, Reel To Reel Teaming Up With Arkham
By May 8, 2018 Dining
Just a quick one to start the week off of right; the Fatburger in Shanghai Tower has closed for what they say is a 'rebranding.' Le Salon de Joel Robuchon ceases to be an abandoned parking lot and is finally turning into a venue, and Reel To Reel packed up and is moving laterally, not vertically, into Arkham. Fu-sion HA!

First up, Fatburger news, the most important kind. They won't say what they're rebranding to, but as far as we can tell, they're keeping the name, just changing the concept. When it opened alongside the Sinan Mansions one last year, it aimed for a sports bar concept. Maybe that's what they're changing? Very uncommunicative bunch. Our prediction? Yoga studio.

Moving on, after over a year in REEL Mall (85% convinced it was just a fake hoarding from the developers), Joel Robuchon's Le Salon de Joel Robuchon is finally opening on May 19. Highlights from the presser include; "brand new model of Joel Robuchon," "another gift to Shanghai sent by Mr. Joel Robuchon," "chic all-day dining," "ideal place for the family reunion at night," "desserts can be taken away." Pastries, Danishes, sweet & savory crepes, salads and traditional French dishes in afternoon tea, lunch and dinner formats. It includes "La Boutique de Joel Robuchon," which is their bakery.

"Opening Soon," dated Oct 24, 2017

Big nightlife developments, Fuxing SOHO's late-night club Reel to Reel had its last night about two nights ago, packed up, and is moving somewhere more suitable. Specifically, they're shacking up with Arkham, taking over after-party duties from 2am onwards. It's not confirmed yet, but probably no door charges. That'd be real sweet. Expect that to be finalized sometime in late June.

Finally, we mentioned a while back that a popular stretch of Wulumuqi Lu is closing. That's happening tomorrow. So tomorrow is your last day to get yourself some poke at Little Catch, some goat cheese at Slurp! and 'babs at 'Bab Bros.
