Has Hard Rock Cafe Left the Building?
By Aug 2, 2018 Dining
Bad news for people who like dining on classic American hamburgers while basking in the glow of the shoes from the drummer of No Doubt. Shanghai's Hard Rock Cafe — its second in the past few decades, if you're keeping score — appears to have closed down. For the past few days the doors have been locked and the lights are off; the phone is disconnected and no one is responding to emails. Same deal for the one in Hangzhou. Doesn't look good. Is this the day the music died? Bye bye, Miss American Pie? Still, construction crews have yet to rip out the insides so maybe they're retooling? Changing direction? Suggestion: EDM. Can I have the Tony Iommi jacket?

Well...the first incarnation was totally overpriced in their food and "xiaojies of the night" both mediocre at best. Sometimes history....it rhymes : )

This is what happens when you decide to not build a tourist restaurant on the Bund.
