The shaved ice joint is decorated in red, blue and white dots and banners, Showa-era style, with vintage dolls and Japanese paper lanterns. Despite its tiny space, it’s constantly packed with kawaii girls (and boys) with their cameras. Click-click, candy jars; Click-click, glass marble balls; Click-click, retro ice shaving machine; and click-click, super cute staff with orange blush.
The Japanese interior is the perfect background for their very own photogenic shaved ice, which comes in five flavors: strawberry, peach, passion fruit, matcha and chocolate. It took 15 minutes to get my 42rmb strawberry order (and it will take longer at weekends when there are lines). The ice was topped with strawberry jam, strawberry and blueberry halves, and there was vanilla ice cream hidden inside the fluffy ice. Use the spoon to mix them together, you get the perfect shaved ice — no longer pretty, but tasty!
Since there are no seats, you can either find a spot (which is hard) to stand or walk away with the ice. Either way you should finish the ice quick before it starts melting and sweating.
Besides shaved ice, they also serve soft drinks and ice creams. Show up before it is gone at the end of August.
