Kappo Yu Turns 1
By Justin Fischer, May 31st, 2011 | In Dining
Before you start accusing me of some sort of love-in with the el Willy group, hear me out; this is pretty cool. Kaiseki restaurant Kappo Yu turns one year young in June and so to celebrate they're giving out free homemade umeshu, or plum wine, to finish off your dinner. Apparently, owner Takeo Oyama has been sourcing plums out near Suzhou and has been steeping them in Shochu for nearly a year. So the batch should be ripe and ready. The offer is good for the entire month of June (that's tomorrow). After dinner each person gets his own little bottle to enjoy. Sounds pretty tasty.
