If you've spent much time in the Fumin-Changle area, you've probably seen the signage of a new "authentic northern Thai" restaurant in the works called Cha Cha Wan. It opened yesterday.

I popped in with the hopes of having a quick lunch. After a cursory glance at the menu I notice something: It seems that these guys have a very broad definition of what "authentic northern Thai" is. It includes seafood like grilled squid (northern Thailand is land-locked to the best of my memory), Vietnamese rice paper rolls, or even Singaporean laksa.

Maybe some of this stuff is good, mind you. But I'm a firm believer in restaurants doing what they say on the tin.
