Bo Shanghai Calls It Quits For Now, "Moving" to New Location
By Mar 5, 2019 Dining
Michelin stars and purple hair weren't enough to crack the Shanghai market, at least on the Bund: "demon chef" Alvin Leung's Bo Shanghai has packed up its bag of molecular tricks and turned off the thermo-circulators at Five on the Bund. In a "Moving Annoucenment" on Weibo over the weekend, the one-star restaurant wrote: "Bo Shanghai is currently undergoing internal adjustments and seeking a new location in order to better serve our valued guests. During this period, service will be suspended at Five on the Bund. We will be back with a brand new look when we are ready and hope to welcome you once again. Stay tuned for our collaborations and pop-up events in different cities!" That leaves a little to be desired. Like opening date? Location? Concept? Are they really just on vacation while real estate agents do their thing? Or are they madly scrambling behind the scenes to figure out what people in Shanghai want (brunch) before people forget the name (brunch)? The mystery! More updates as we get them.

Bo Shanghai was the name of a furniture store on Huai Hai lu near the music conservatory around 2000-2005, sounds like a case of Brand confusion : )
