Not surprisingly, Y's Table have not been available for any comments as to why. But I'm going to make an educated guess here and say that the place just wasn't making any money. That's usually why most businesses fail, isn't it? And let's face it. Paying 180 kuai for a pizza is a little more tolerable when you're on the Lujiazui promenade with a view of the Bund. If the rumor mill is to be believed, they were hemorrhaging cash, to the tune of five million USD or more -- not enough to break a company this big, mind you, but certainly enough to justify closing up shop. As for who or what will follow in Y's stead, details are still scant. As soon as we know, you'll know.
