Beijing Calling: SUBS and Hedgehog in SH

Two of Beijing's best rawk 'n' punk bands are slated for shows in Shanghai in the coming months -- expect these to be "quite the big deal". SUBS we're last in town last year, behind their latest self-released CD, Queen of Fucking Everything -- still one of the best live bands in China, still making a strong case for being the best live band in China. They're in at Mao on April 9. Opening band, TBC, but it t'would be grand to see The Instigation on that bill, ripping into the Kang Mao army in the front row.
And on March 19, 50rmbs gets you in to see Hedgehog, another band on the top of the pile from Beijing. Music is that buzzy indie rock. They just released two new professional looking, arty music videos: click here and here for those. Last time Hedgehog were in Shanghai it was like 9,000,000 people at Yuyintang, and it's most likely going to be a repeat of that. Albeit with the new renovations, it should be a much nicer experience.
