Friday Night Hip Hop Connection

Headz, looking for a club to kick off your long weekend? This one sounds pretty cool. Down at The Shelter tonight is the first of three events spear-headed by "The Connection" -- a platform bringing together underground musicians working from all over China in (relatively) non-commericial idioms. "The Conneciton" is a project from Uprooted Sunshine / solo vocalist Cha Cha and Cookie, and these first three events showcase young Chinese talent living in "second and third -tier cities", working in hip hop.
So tonight is "North Meets South: A Hip-Hop Connection", featuring artists from Giuyang -- H20 and LJ -- joining a couple Shanghai producers and/or DJs for a night of next shit hip hop. That's all a warm-up for a couple events later this month, featuring a larger culminating show at Mao Livehouse.
Read more about the project here.
Long story short, should be a good one down at The Shelter tonight if you're interested in fresh, indigenous hip hop. Coolio inglesias.
