Hey here comes another band ten years after their peak. This one was pretty good though. Early aughts dancepunk band !!!, pronounced "Chk Chk Chk", are at Mao Livehouse on August 28. They got big with their first single "Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story)," which recalls Liquid Liquid, Can, and other disco/rock hybrid shiz. Released in 2001, it's probably still their best track. Have read good words about their live shows. We'll have pre-sale tickets going for 150rmb soon - stay tuned.
Also coming up on August 29, Scandinavian erotic metal band HIM (who just played at Strawberry) at the QSW at experimental rock band Liars at Mao Livehouse. Thanks to TimeOut Shanghai for the tip on those two shows.
