Big — albeit truncated — weekend ahead for fans of weird sounds, non-sounds, pure sounds, purely not sounds, noises, "noise", Noise, et al. First up: Basque improvisation artist Mattin will release a new DVD of his work, Anti Social Realism, tomorrow evening at am space. The release will be held in conjunction with Beijing artist Yan Jun and his Sub Jam label. Event includes a premiere screening of the video, followed by an artist talk. More info

Mattin's in town as part of Noisy Days, a two-day, genre-bending sound art / "noise as noise" showcase organized by German curator Nicholas Bussmann, which will go down on Saturday and Sunday in the Power Station of Art's third-floor theater space. Lot of heavy hitters on deck, including Mattin and Yan Jun, plus Otomo Yoshihide and Sachiko M from Japan, and Shanghai's own resident noise terrorizers, Torturing Nurse.

Find full schedule and ticketing info for that one — plus some choice cuts from Bussmann's ponderous exhibition notes — right here.
