SubCulture / SmartShanghai Poster Giveaway
By Nick Taylor, Sep 10th, 2012 | In Nightlife
Roll up, roll up, we have a doozie to give away this month. There's another Sub-Culture party over the weekend, this time featuring UK DJ Skratcha, who was a heavyweight in the grime scene for years but recently released his first album on Kode9's highly influential Hyperdub label.
He's a really funny bloke. We have an interview coming up later in the week. For now, if you want some tunes for your Monday, check out this mix he did for Sub-Culture.
As usual, SubCulture commissioned an artist to create a silk-screen poster for the event and they're giving away three of them in the run up to the show. This month's poster was designed by the Japanese illustrator hr-fm. Here's the man's site. It's the first time he's worked with Sub-Culture, but judging by the comments it got on Facebook when Sub-Culture unveiled it, it's one of their most popular. What's not to like? An astronaut with a chainsaw. End of story. Look at it here.
If you're interested in owning one, email subcultureshanghai [at] gmail.com with "Sub-Culture/Smartshanghai poster giveaway" in the subject line. Just give them your name and contact info, and ask nicely. There are three to be had. They'll get back to the winners on Friday morning and the print will be ready to pick up on Saturday night.
