Joja Wendt began playing piano at age four, and went on to graduate from the Manhattan School of Music. In 1990, Wendt joined blues and rock legend Joe Cocker on tour, and developed his own style, which is a mix of jazz, classical music, ballads, and the rhythms of rock. This virtuoso of many different styles has won the Louis Armstrong Award and been the top-selling pianist in Germany. The Delegation of the European Union to China hosts "Euphoria", a series of electronic music events across China. Starting on November 18 in Shanghai at Arkham, Euphoria kicks off with the synth-wave sounds of France’s College. His remarkable theme song for the hit film Drive, “A Real Hero”, was one of the biggest tracks of 2011, and his latest album is fittingly titled “Shanghai”. He’s joined by Warsaw-born globetrotting DJ and sound designer Tomasz Guiddo whose releases on Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space. Campari Group will hold its first China event to celebrate the 260th anniversary of sparkling wine brand Cinzano – an opportunity to sample the Italian way of life in Shanghai. Located in the leafy environment of the Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel, guests will be able to relax on the lawn and enjoy a showing “La Dolce Vita”, live jazz music, and lawn games. The Italian atmosphere will be supported by a number of famous Italian brands – including shoe company Superga, iconic scooter company Vespa, and vintage clothes store Vintage 1961. The high season for theater in Shanghai continues with Broadway-traveled productions of Jersey Boys now showing and West Wide Story opening later this month.
