SHFT pres. Krane @ Arkham

Krane is known for his unique take on electronic, hip-hop, and dance music, and the Northern California-native’s jazz upbringing and modern perspective has allowed him to remain an evolving musician. The end of 2015 was met with the release of TOKiMONSTA & KRANE’s single “Put It Down” featuring Anderson .Paak. In 2016, his “Debris” album series was introduced, stabling his first packaged release (through Fools Gold Records), staged as a volume-based collection of B-Sides and Rarities from recording sessions with Kehlani, J. Cole, Bryson Tiller and others. SHFT with another big one on their hands at Arkham.

Lightwire Theater pres. ‘The Ugly Duckling’ @ Shanghai Children's Art Theater

Another great piece of children's theater on a Shanghai stage, ideal for kids 5 and up. Lightwire Theater stage a Shanghai production of the show that Rolling Stone called “absolutely incredible.” The timeless classic children’s story is rendered in a multimedia stage presentation using state of the art sound, lighting, and the Theater’s own trademark electroluminescent wire puppetry pieces that carve dazzling images and movement out of darkness. An unforgettable theater experience. See the show that’s won standing ovations from around the world. This show runs from June 16 to June 18.

Djemba Djemba @ Modern Sky Lab

From bass powered festival anthems to future pop to intelligent headphone music, Djemba’s main focus is to create authentic and refreshingly unexpected music that defies classification. The producer returns to Shanghai to play the newly opened Modern Sky Lab. Don’t miss.

Suzhou: East China's Best Noodles

Just a short private van trip from Shanghai awaits a culinary opportunity not to be missed for enthusiasts of Chinese comfort cuisine: Suzhou’s famous (and seasonally limited) Three Shrimp Noodles. SmSh Offline hosts a morning trip food tour of Noodle Street in Suzhou led by our favorite irreverent staff food writer Chris St Cavish. Chris will be taking small groups through the history of these unique noodle dishes and the restaurants that serve them, maybe even getting us into the Suzhou kitchens that create them to learn more about the secrets to their flavor (hint: it’s all in the broth). Don’t miss out on this opportunity to partake in an intimate encounter with one East China’s most beguiling dishes.
