Comedy Corner's open mic night is held every Thursday at 8pm. The evenings will feature four 15-minute acts and five 5-minute spots. Watch comedy veterans hone and fine-tune their material for the weekends. Entrance is free, so scan the QR code in the flyer to reserve seats.



Very Open Mic is back. The event welcomes anyone to come on stage and share what they want, from stand-up comedy to poetry and everything in between. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm. Entrance is free.



Zmack's 12 year anniversary is this year. To help celebrate the festivities, they're bringing to the stage "Curator's Cut", a two-act interactive drama bound to give anyone a roller coaster ride of emotions. The show starts at 8pm. M/M (Paris) was co-founded in 1992. By showcasing hundreds of pieces of this prolific art and design duo’s works, the exhibition will review their 30-year career, and explore how design can be translated and reinterpreted in a variety of contexts.

Business advisors Fintegrity are hosting a conference on corporate finance and tax for startups. Expect to hear about the hidden danger of newly established companies, fundamental corporate finance and tax knowledge, information on the legal structure of a company, works and reports needed to maintain a running business, how to avoid the main internal and external risk of startups and more. The Young Hustler Networking Night will gather over 100 young hustlers at Found 158. This aim is to bring together the young, creative and bold minds of Shanghai, as well as offer people the opportunity to network and mingle. The Screen Printing Workshop is an opportunity for illustrators, designers, art educators, art students, printmaking aficionados and even average joes to employ screen printing as both a part of their artistic practice, as well as a simple method to help personalize products. After the class, participants will have the skills needed to set up a home screen printing studio. Mental health charity Lifeline is back in full form this year for 2021's edition of R U OK? Day. There's a power in staying connected and having meaningful connections, and Lifeline wants to share that with everyone around us. It will be a full day of mental health and wellness workshops, presentations, and fitness classes. The event runs from 9am-5.30pm. There are half-day and full-day prices for participation. Adults are 150rmb and 200rmb; students are 50rmb and 100rmb, respectively. All vendors will be donating a generous portion of the day's proceeds to Lifeline.



Dining


The Supa Fresh Brunch is created by the minds of Chef Lilian and Lucky Lasagna. It is the blending of Caribbean flavor and Italian style. They'll be a brunch of six dishes, thematic-inspired cocktails and free-flow drinks. Expect dishes such as a Caribbean gazpacho, smoked salmon & quail egg ceviche, jerk chicken and more. Music will be mixed by DJ Skinny Brown and Pop'Z. The brunch starts at 11.30am, and it will cost 188rmb per person for the six-dish set meal.



Live Music


The Giovani Chaton Quartet will be playing an African Beat Special at the Jazz at Lincoln Center, cocktails and all. The quartet will be led by Giovani Chaton, a Mauritian jazz pianist who is known for playing all styles of contemporary music. Mcleen Rangasamy will be on guitar, Fred Grenade will be on bass, and Jhonny Joseph will be on drums. Doors open at 6.45. Pianist, Xie Yashuangzi, is coming to Shanghai with a bang. She’s expected to play at the Shanghai Symphony Hall and will be performing a selection of Zhu Jian’Er’s most significant piano pieces. The compositions will express the complexity and intricacy of textures in Zhu Jian’Er’s piano works in comparison to Beethoven and other Chinese piano works of his time. Blue Notes Shanghai is hosting the annual Ho'ike, a dance showcase dedicated to the traditional Hawaiian hula. Every Thursday form 9pm-12.30am, El Santo hosts their SBK dance party for folks to salsa, bachata and kizomba their way through the night. There is also a special food and drink deal: 2rmb chicken wings before 10pm, as well as 40rmb prosecco and gin & tonics all night. Entrance is free.



Bar Rouge is teaming up with Julia's Event to bring "50 Shades of Red - Burslesque Party". Expect the place to be decked out in the reds with resident DJs behind the decks, and of course that magical Bund view. The event runs from 8pm-late. Entrance is 150rmb (includes one drink).



Live music venue and cocktail bar Shake is hosting an old-school funk party with Wink, saxophonist and singer. He will be leading a tribute to Dayton, Ohio, the city that birthed the Ohio Players, Zapp, Junie Morrison, and more. Dinner and cocktails from 6.30pm. Live music from 9.30pm. Entrance is 100rmb.

100% Vinyl

Presented by Cocarde, XBar is hosting another night of 100% Vinyl: an evening dedicated to records and a throwback to classic DJ culture. Cocarde's DJs will be playing a selection of disco and house from famous labels such as Casablanca Records with Defected to French Touch Roulé! The night starts at 10pm and entrance is free.



From 3-10pm, Party promoters MVP Events and Space Panda are hosting Pink Jungle, a rooftop party at XTD Elevated in the Langham, a beautiful hotel terrace overlooking Xintiandi. Expect outdoor festival vibes with a BBQ, champagne, and non-stop house music. There are early-bird tickets for 100rmb and a pre-sale for 130rmb. Dark Masks

Get ready for an evening full of music and arts, navigate into different rooms and explore in the labyrinth space the many faces and projects of the community. At the entrance, you’ll get a mask to paint, decorate and personalize during the event. This event supports theme camps and helps the community to gather together in an open-minded creative evening of celebration. The event starts at 8pm and entrance is 35rmb.



ChiFan for Charity raises funds for the environmental protection non-profit PickUp China. Restaurants donate tables and 100% of the ticket sales are going directly to the charity. After dinner, everyone gets together for an after-party, meeting up with other diners and celebrating with representatives from the charity itself.
