Sunny is brought to you by a team of outstanding domestic artists who have all come together to create a modern retelling and female version of “A Surprising Dream”, from The Peony Pavilion by Chinese dramatist Tang Xianzu. The creative team is comprised of dancer Zhang Yashu, choreographer Yu Erge, artist Ma Liang, and poet Wang Yin. Using contemporary dance techniques, the team has created a marvelous piece that focuses the narrative on the constant travel between dreams and reality. The show on April 10 starts at 7.30pm and the show on April 11 starts at 2pm. The price range for admission is 180-580rmb, depending on seating location. Grab seats via SmartTicket



Remember when you were a kid watching Saturday morning cartoons? Join the Puppet Improv Nep Squad (PINS) for an evening of fuzzy, felt-covered fun on Saturday to kick off Zmack's two-month anniversary! They're mostly kid-friendly. Puppeteers include your favorite Zmackers: Eddie Jordan, Lilian Shen, Mark Skinner, Mathieu Lovelac and Elva Yao! The show starts at 8pm. Pre-sale tickets cost 100rmb (incl. two drinks), but 120rmb at the door.



Community


Suga'hai is hosting a game night from 6.30-9.30pm. The event will include games such as Monopoly, UNO, Cards Against Humanity as well as others. Food is 108rmb, but it will be 256rmb for included free-flow alcohol. Feel free to bring your own games too. Spaces are limited, so scan the QR code to purchase tickets. 



SwedCham YP is delighted to have Scandic Foods Asia as their sponsor for After Work. Apart from networking with other young professionals, you will also get the opportunity to get a deeper insight into Scandic and their business! Furthermore, there will be unlimited drinks. The Rotaract Club of Shanghai is back with Sip & Swap, right on time with spring cleaning! From 1-6pm, come grab a drink, get rid of your unwanted clothes, and exchange them for cool new-to-you finds. 15% of drink sales and remaining goods will be donated to the Heart to Heart organization.



Become a dab hand with a fan brush. This painting workshop uses techniques inspired by Mr. Ross and other small screen painting gurus. Everyone will live with a completed painting. The class starts at 10pm, and it is 200rmb to participate.



Dining


Heritage Sessions is back with Malay Madness, presented by Chef Brian Tan and Chef Danyi Gao. Explore some real Malaysian flavors with a sharing style menu, featuring some off-menu dishes such as sambal nasi lamak, nyonya kueh and more. It's 369rmb per person, and the dinner starts at 6pm.



Starting from 12pm, Ringside is hosting another doggy brunch at their huge terrace with special guest HappyNest, who will have training talk about a positive reinforcement training method. Price of 78rmb includes a drink and brunch from the updated Ringside menu. Ticket info via QR-code.



Health & Wellbeing


Life coaching session over a glass of wine. In this session, you will be talking about how to overcome hurdles/challenges, how to become more resilient during challenging times, how to have a growth mindset life. The coaching session will be lead Nicole Stroud of VV Wine. The price is 108rmb, which includes two glasses of wine. The session runs from 6-8pm.



Live Music


German-born Franz Von Chossy will be performing two nights only on April 7 and 8 with Wang Chenhuai on bass and Xu Zhitong on drums. A jazz pianist, composer, and record producer based in the Netherlands, Franz is known for his innovative twists on classical pieces. Concert is from 7.30-9.30pm. Pre-sale price is 150rmb, but there is a two-person deal for 360rmb (incl. snack plate). Get tickets on SmartTicket.



The Brian Hurley Quintet is playing at the Jazz at Lincoln Center! Made up of Alex Haavik on saxophone, Jeremy Sinclair on trumpet, Huang Jianyi on piano, and Tony Bott on drums, the group will be led by Brian Hurley. A jazz bassist and composer, he was dubbed to be “one of the most important bassists in Canada.” Two concerts only, 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Uptown Records is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a live music concert. Recently, Uptown has faced a raise of their rent, doubling the original fee. They are hosting a fund-raiser during the anniversary to help keep the lights on. They wish that the donations and support can help highlight the cultural significance of the venue. Playing for the day are the Cocoonics, Burger Suicide Club, Solid Liquidem and more. They even have support merchandise that guests can purchase. More on that here.



Starting at 8pm, violinist Zhi-Jong Wang and her music partner, Ensemble Epoch, from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music will perform Golden Era. The program is comprised of pieces composed decades ago by artists like Brahms, Bartok, Falla, and of course, Stravinsky. The price range is 180-380rmb, depending on the seating location. Nightlife


Every Thursday at SHAKE, live funk and soul music from Sheree on vocals and HongBin on keys. All menu cocktails are buy-one-get-one all night long. Dinner from 6.30pm. Music starts at 9.30pm. 



At 7pm, FACT.COFFEE will begin celebrating their third anniversary with their brand new Coffee Cocktail Menu and complimentary Espresso Fact.inis! Ladies Night

Ladies Night is setting the mood every Thursday at Bar Rouge Shanghai, with rocking rhythms and feel-good vibes to keep the spirit up track after track. Free entrance for ladies all night and complimentary cocktails before 11.30pm. For the gentlemen, it's 100rmb (incl. one drink).



Enjoy the night at C's with DJ God Law Da and Raythm. They will take charge of the dance music they come from digging during the working fishing time. Entry is free, and the event starts at 9pm.
