A late Christmas present from the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, released today via official platforms. From January 8, COVID-19 is to be reclassified to a lesser category of infection, and then therefore no longer subject to quarantine management measures.
That means... no more mandatory quarantine for people or goods coming in to China.
Other major optimizations released at the meeting include: no longer implementing isolation measures, no longer judging close contacts, no longer delineating high and low risk areas, implementing hierarchical and classified admissions for infected people and adjusting medical security policies, adjusting nucleic acid testing, and adjust the frequency and content of epidemic information releases, and more.
Happy holidays y'all! Bring on 2023...
