Our co-curricular activities (CCA) programme is an integral and compulsory part of the school day. Pupils create a be-spoke timetable choosing from a wide range of activities including sport, performing arts, enrichment activities and an academic selection. Pupils also have time for self-study during their CCA time. Further activities are available in the evenings and weekends through the Wellington Academy.
Wellington College’s two campuses offers the very best in purpose-built educational facilities for our pupils, incorporating everything required for academic and extracurricular excellence in 21st century schooling. Our facilities include four teaching buildings with advanced classrooms and IT facilities; fully equipped and specialised science laboratories, art rooms and design technology suites; a performing arts centre with dedicated practice rooms, dance studios, the Black Box theatre and a state-of-art 500-seat theatre; sport facilities including tennis and basketball courts, football, rugby and cricket pitches, an air purified sports dome, a 25m competition swimming pool and a training pool for younger children. Their new Early Years Center on Tongwan Road is opened in August 2019 for Nursery and Reception pupils.
Wellington recognises and rewards the pursuit and achievement of excellence of our pupils in the categories of Academics, Music, Drama, Dance, Sports and Musical Theatre. Awarded scholars play a significant role in the life of the college and must show a high degree of ability in their chosen field whilst also demonstrating leadership in the encouragement of non-scholarship holding pupils. Many of the awarded scholarships provide free tuition or coaching and other benefits for the pupils. In addition, awards may be complemented by a Bursary on the basis of a means test.
