Part of the museum's 'Precariously Yours' series, lectures look at ways in which rapid reforms and urbanisation in China have resulted in increasing inequalities. Here, that idea is extended to concepts of gender, love and sexuality. How do single women negotiate the multiple expectations and demands that society imposes upon them? What are their tactics of resistance against normative gender roles and expectations? How to imagine the city as a more intimate and fragile space? Speakers are Prof. Dr. Josephine Ho (National Central University) and Dr. CHOW Yiu Fai (Hong Kong Baptist University ). Free; 5.30pm - 7pm; English.
