About

Swedish Miami-based artist Josefina Posch developed a new body of work during her stay in Shanghai at DDM's resident artist. This exhibition will be a collection of Josefina's old and new series of art work. For this time the Swedish artist is going to do site-specific creation to make it an unique "Eikasia" world. Eikasia was a concept used by Plato to refer to a human way of dealing with appearances. It is the ability to perceive whether a perception is an image or something else. It therefore allows us to perceive that a dream, a memory or a reflection in a mirror is not reality as such. Open 11am-7pm, Tue-Sun. Free admission.

A part from the older installation piece "The False Promise of convenience I" will be shown. Using latex gloves, latex sacs and small heads with tubing inserted as a form of assembly line installation, these "puppets" are called "trepidators" since they express fear and anxiety. Her 1 sec video "Primal Fear" and documentary style "No Comment" rooted in her experiences living in the American society at times of war.
