About

Part of its ongoing series of screen-based works, Chronus Art Center presents Voice of Sisyphus|Slice, an exhibition by Hungarian born American artist George Legrady. Comprising two works, both use algorithms as a means of data visualization and sonification, coming together to create visual images of socio-cultural narratives. The first work evokes the Greek myth of King Sisyphus’ ceaseless rolling of a boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down again. The second sees the slicing in half of eight black and white and color tinted photographs of a formal social events, to the point of creating unrecognizable abstract visual slivers. Grandly opens 20 June from 5pm - 7pm
