About

[Last day is Sunday!] For the fourth year running, the always excellent OCAT turns its attention to young and emerging artists through group exhibition, The Ballad of Generation Y. As you'd expect from this constantly boundary-busting institution, works span video, electronic devices, installations, documentation, and loads more besides. Featuring works by ten Chinese talents, the show runs in parallel with curator Zhang Ga's online project for this year's Venice Biennale, Folklore of the Cyber World. This is its physical incarnation, and comprises new media works by Liu Xin, Shen Xin, Guo Xi, Zhang Jianling, Liu Jiayu, Guo Cheng, Chen Yiyun, Lin Ke, Miao Ying and Ye Funa. Together, they question whether the ever-changing media technologies available to young artists of today propel creative inspiration or suffocate it. Recommended.
