DOBOKU: Civil Engineering in Shanghai

Finished Ended on Sun Jun 24, 2018 , 10am
Modern Art Museum
4777 Binjiang Da Dao, near Pudian Lu

First opened in 2016 at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo, a design museum created by architect Tadao Ando and fashion designer Issey Miyake, Doboku aims to reconsider the importance of civil engineering, and invites the public to experience and discover role in our daily lives. For the exhibition in Shanghai, the team behind it has localized the previous exhibition after personally visiting sites of civil engineering in Shanghai. Visitors are not only given the chance to see some of the iconic civil engineering designs in Japan -- models of Shibuya Station and Tokyo Station, and works from exhibition director, Japanese architect Hiroshi Nishimura -- but also photos of landmark infrastructures in Shanghai. The event takes place on the third floor of the museum. Pre-sale is 90rmb, and 100rmb at door.
