Gender Dialogue: Breaking Down Unconscious Bias
Editor's Description
The world all knows how gender diversity and inclusion not only contributes to social impact for sustainability but also economic returns. There are plenty of reports and media voices about the importance of it. However, why we are still going backwards? The complexity of this issue requires fixing multilayers factors in order to see the change. Some of those are unconscious bias and lack of communication and understanding between men and women. Bias, discrimination, diversity and inclusion – these words are cropping up more and more in the business world today. Leaders at top corporations and start-ups, as well as small business owners are starting to pay more attention to developing a “diverse” employee base. But, what exactly is bias? What does it mean to be biased? And how can diversity and inclusion help break down bias in your company or organization? Join Ladies Who Tech and Goose Island this March 9th, 2019 as we tackle these questions and more. We will start the day with an interactive workshop on the mechanisms of a tricky thing we all harboring called unconscious bias. Following this, we will get into a group discussion to find out why representation, especially for women in technology and leadership roles, is critical to innovation and advancement. 100rmb including a drink.
