Unpacking is about a couple, Nolitha and Benjamin, who have a surreal first encounter that grows into the kind of love story that they thought only existed in fairytales. When reality interjects, their relationship morphs into something neither could name. They neatly wrap their problems in silence and pack them away, hoping darkness will wither them. Throughout the play, we see their relationship culminate into a maddening performance, showing that, if anything, silence is a fertiliser. Unpacking is also about hope. It's about holding onto hopeful beginnings, to rebirths, to pieces coming together and to healing. Unpacking is about forgiving ourselves and others. Knowing that despite what has happened to us, scared us, we are whole and worthy of learning or remembering how to let go of feelings and behaviours that no longer serve us. 150rmb.
