This is the fifth exhibition of the Marcel Duchamp Prize in China and it's proposing a new look at the French scene through the works of the 12 nominated artists. The selection was made based on the notion of displacement, travel, and discovery. The works presented revolve around means of locomotion, from the most universal, like walking, to the most technological, like a spaceship. They evoke humanistic, poetic, or political thoughts around the concept of a journey. The Marcel Duchamp Prize honors a winner from artists either French or residing in France, working in the field of the plastic and visual arts. The contest is organized in partnership with the Centre Pompidou and has acquired worldwide prestige. Free.
