2020 MISA Closing Concert - Buddha Passion by Tan Dun (CANCELLED)
Editor's Description

The 11th Music in the Summer Air (MISA) closes with a special performance featuring one of China’s most prominent conductors and symphony writers, Tan Dun, along with the Lanzhou Concert Hall Chorus and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. “Buddha Passion” is Tan Dun’s original work, combining traditional Chinese instruments and western orchestra: the ensemble, the pipa, the soprano, tenor and folk vocalists from Gansu province perform together to create an interwoven tapestry of complex sounds. The concert is also accompanied by a Dunhuang Mural Dance. (<i><b>Update:</b> unfortunately, this show has been cancelled</i>.)
