The 20/21 season kicks off in September with a series of four concerts. September 1 sees conductor Long Yu of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra perform Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings, followed by Julian Yu's Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Beethoven, and then Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major (with Ning Feng on violin); September 11 features "Back to Baroque," featuring Vivaldi, Piazzolla and Mozart performed by Polaris Quartet and Friends; September 12 sees a lecture on the Classic Period by lecturer Han Bin, featuring pieces from Mozart, Beethoven and Fauré; and September 16 features the first Rush Hour Concert, Brillante, where a ten-person ensemble performs Kreisler, Paganini, Cassado, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich and Vivaldi's "Summer."
