The Blue Danube was created in 1866 by Johann Strauss II, who personally conducted the waltz at the Paris International Exposition to great success. A few months later, the work was performed in the US, and then to all major cities in the world. Blue Danube has become one of the most representative works of Johann Strauss II and is sometimes seen as the unofficial national anthem of Austria. The concert is themed around the tunes of Blue Danube, including a range of world’s most-loved waltz compositions. The concert is played by Accent Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Fan Tao, one of the best recognized conductors in the nation.
