Hefei-based artist Yang Chongguang’s individual exhibition “Spring is a Liar” opened on May 15th. Comprising newly completed acrylic works on canvas, the show is scheduled to end on the 27th of June. This is the first solo presentation by the artist at Gallery 55. Yang Chongguang’s works seem like a dream but not a dream. The sentimental and hopeful mood in them confirms the journey of life and the status quo of life so sincerely. In recent years, ruins become the source of inspiration for his interpretation of "Chinese-style expressionism", as well as his exploration of human nature and the secret soil of "existence". Yang Chongguang condenses his innate compassion, exploration, and expression of human nature into three-dimensional ruins bearing time.
