About

One of the most underrated folk-pop acts to come around in the last couple of decades, Kings of Convenience, the Norwegian duo of Erlend Øye (also of the indie-pop group The Whitest Boy Alive) and Eirik Glambek Bøe - craft gentle, harmony-rich songs that recall the bittersweet comfort of Simon & Garfunkel and Belle and Sebastian. They hit it big in the first decade of this century with their ‘Balearic-sunlight melodies, infused with the elegance of bossa nova… never wavering from their acoustic guitars (and the occasional violin). After spending a lot of the 2010s quiet, they returned to much acclaim in 2021 with new music. So it was only a matter of time before the pair made their way to China, performing this weekend at Grand Theater in the BOCOM New Bund 31 Performing Arts Center.
