While western run galleries in Shanghai struggle to import international artists, Duolun MoMA continues to forge relationships with European galleries in an innovative maneuver to achieve the same ends. This time Duolun partners up with 70 year old Paris-based Maeght Gallery to exhibit works by Marco Del Re and Aki Kurodo. Opening at 4pm.

Maeght Gallery is one of the most famous galleries in the world. Despite its 70 year history, Maeght Gallery is still one of the most active galleries in today's art scene. Artists represented by Maeght Gallery have had significant influence over modern art. Artists such as W.Kandinsky, Fernand Leger, Henri Matisse, Bonnard Pierre, Georges Braque, Giacometti, Alberto, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, and Cadell have built their concrete position in art history.

Today, with its professional management system, Maeght Gallery still possesses its own unique view toward art to help young artists. The second and third generations artists from Maeght Gallery such as Aki Kuroda and Marco Del Re have exhibition and collection background are well-known around the globe.

Aki Kuroda was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1944. Now he resides and works in Paris, France. He explores the relationships between humans and space, humans and nature using simple lines and colors to express his deep thoughts. Eliminating unnecessary elements and at the same time he infuses work with imagination. In addition to traditional oil painting, photography, works on paper and installation, he has designed the stage background and architecture of experimental plays. He has also collaborated with writers, musicians and high fashion brands.

Italian artist Marco Del Re was born in the 1950s. He learned drawing as a child and has experimented with different styles including Fauvism, Futurism, Neoclassicism and Eclecticism. His unique understanding toward art history has helped him form a mature style and his own ideology. His works are influenced by the Mediterranean Sea and the culture of ancient Greece. These influences appear on his use of colors which makes his works to have lifelikeness effects. His experience of being an architect allows him to have a diverse view toward art.

The name of the Maeght gallery comes from one of the world's biggest art collection families. The Maeght family has established a dynasty in the art industry as a sponsor and business leader. The Maeght Group includes The Maeght Foundation, The Maeght Modern Museum of Art, Maeght Gallery and Maeght Publisher. The Maeght foundation was established in 1964, it was the first modern art museum. Maeght foundation has arranged not only the exhibition from its own country but also collaborated with international art museums to provide high quality modern art exhibitions. This exhibition is the first international exhibition that Maeght Gallery has organized since its Shanghai office.
