Cao Fei is one of the most internationally recognized contemporary Chinese artists today. Her works blend social commentary and pop aesthetics, referencing surrealism and employing documentary filming techniques to reflect the rapid changes in contemporary Chinese society. Cao Fei was also the first Chinese artist to hold a solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. This exhibition marks Cao Fei's first solo exhibition in Shanghai and is also the first solo exhibition by a female artist at the Museum of Art Pudong since its opening, focusing on video and media art. The exhibition reviews and showcases Cao Fei's artistic career over the past 30 years, presenting her latest art projects and creating one of the largest solo exhibitions of Cao Fei globally. The exhibition includes 7 works premiering worldwide and 13 pieces making their domestic debut.
