Live China Music heads to Yuyintang Park for an evening of dangerously alluring tunes that’ll leave you dazed – a sweltering late summer blast of volatile indie rock, jagged post punk and propulsive cold wave courtesy of Suzhou’s Yinmachi and Beijing’s naja naja - two of the scene’s best kept secrets. Hailing from Suzhou, Yinmachi 饮马池 dive headfirst into the high-wire world of the post punk, injecting their sound with propulsive allure, chugging guitars, infectious zeal and an old school punk magnetism - the latter of which adds bolt of riotous fun into the band’s taut instrumentation, not afraid to shift into surf rock overdrive should the mood strike. Beijing duo Naja Naja - whose eccentric cold wave rubs shoulders up against hip-swaying post punk and new psychedelic beats over deep trenches of hypnotic tones - find cheeky irrelevance in their detached carnivalesque sonic world.
