About

Two of the post-punk scene’s newest contenders team up for a tour across China. Muzzy Mum - the Xinxiang post-punk band, returned this summer with their sophomore release - The Nine Thousandth Pair of Eyes - with the band’s trademark urban decay lyricism and jagged musicality - with elements of noise, no-wave slicing through the bleeding guitar distortion, ear-piercing drums and bluntly delivered vocals. Meanwhile, HTYZ - out of Hangzhou lean into the fatalistic undertones of the genre with relish on their debut EP ‘Stand Still’ this spring - crafting slick, melodic cold wave-inflicted tunes whose methodical precision, particularly in singer Zhao Yiyang's smoldering voice, only adds to the band’s aura.
