The fifth installment of the 2025 Spanish Art Season, Balada Del Ouroboros: Arte y Coleccionismo en Femenino, opens with over 40 works spanning painting, video, sculpture, installation, and textile art. Taking the ancient ouroboros symbol of the self-devouring serpent as its starting point, the exhibition explores themes of identity, body, gender, space, memory, and transformation through the lens of female artists and collectors. Works by both Chinese and Spanish women highlight how individual experience becomes collective perception, while the inclusion of female collectors’ contributions emphasizes collecting as an act of cultural interpretation and world-building. Presented across five sections, the exhibition invites audiences into a cyclical narrative of growth and renewal, offering a cross-cultural dialogue that underscores the enduring influence of women in shaping contemporary art and its histories.
