The Beijing-based label, 1724 Records, has steadily been building its fanbase and roster for over sixteen years, focusing on post-rock and ambient music. Unsung and steadfast heroes, they’re hosting a special showcase featuring Kunming-based oNEwAY, who started out twenty years ago and have integrated more and more Chinese folk music in their sound; and Beijing’s The Grinding Ear, another underappreciated purveyor of the post-rock scene, who cross over multiple musical canvases in their sound.
