West Bund Museum teams up with Centre Pompidou for Fluxus, by chance, the first major exhibition in China to systematically trace the history of the Fluxus movement. The show brings over 200 works from the Pompidou collection, spanning 11 sections and featuring icons like Marcel Duchamp, George Maciunas, Joseph Beuys, Yoko Ono, Man Ray, and La Monte Young, alongside tributes to John Cage. The exhibition also highlights the resonance of Fluxus in China, with works by Huang Yong Ping, Geng Jianyi, Yin Xiuzhen, and Shi Yong, and explores the movement’s dialogue with Zen philosophy. Expect a mix of archival materials, landmark works, and immersive experiences that underscore Fluxus’ radical belief that art can be found in everyday life.
